Corgon Liga - Kosice v Tatran Presov

Ok.I have been gone for a while again, but I am warming up with my previews before the new NHL season.

Today I will provide you with a closer look at Saturdays eastern Slovakia derby between MFK Kosice and Tatran Presov.This is a classic.The last time these two faced each other in the top league was back in 2002 -Kosice taking the game 2-1 after 0-1 halftime.Despite the fact that there are bigger and better teams in Slovakia (Zilina, Slovan,Trnava,Artmedia) this game is almost the biggest clash in Slovakia.

Regardless of their current form, both teams leave their maximum on the pitch.And more.

Kosice have been superb this year, above the expectations actually, placed first with 22 points out of 30 possible.They are strong at home ground, winning 4 games and playing equal in one.Last game was not the best for them, as they lost in Bratislava against Slovan 0-2, and played poorly.

Tatran has also been rather positive surprise this year (after returning from second division after years), currently occuping 5th spot with 13 points. Their main problem so far are road games.In five away games, Tatran, suffered 5 losses and one tie.Alarminf information here is, that Tatran has only scored two goals in these matches while giving up 11.

When you look at this game purely statistically, you must be putting Tatran as a clear underdog.However, this is one of the most important games for the team, as it is for MFK.Players will not be cosidering their table position here, especially Tatran players, who will look for an upset and prove they the best from the east.

The two cities are less than 30 km from each other, and big crowd is expected here.There will be nerytmizoval that this rival match has to offer - tention between the fans, struggle on the pitch, red card perhaps and some goals.The home side should take this, but look for Tatran to leave their mark in this match.
