Carnegie League - Waterford v Athlone Town

Hosts are still in contention for the title and they will be looking for another 3 pointer against a side who didn`t beat them since year 2002. With one game in hand and only 2 points behind Dundalk, who failed once more this weekend, they can take the lead in the league. They have the best home record of the league with 11 wins and 4 draws and +22 goal difference and with the last week`s 3-0 away trashing of Longford they will try to continue this unbeaten run at home. Visitors are struggling big time having only 2 points more than last placed Kildare. They form is awful as they haven`t won since July and only 4 times in 28 games. They even lost to Kildare in the previous round by 1-0. Their main problem will be absence of their leading striker Noel Mc Gee, while John Mernagh is also out due to suspension. I don`t see visitors scoring tonight and taking into consideration form, motivation and quality difference I see another easy victory for the hosts. 3-0 is my guess!
