WC Sheffield - Mark Selby v Mark Selby
The Shanghai Masters has reached the 2nd round (last 16) and in yesterdays early matches we saw plenty of seeds fall in what would have been a good day for the 'outsider' backers. The afternoon session saw just one favourite beaten. I think the problem for what ive seen is the pace of the tables, especially the TV table, nobody quite seems to be able to judge it that well, As a result players who look to be buiding a frame winning score lose position and the break ends leaving the frame well and truely open again. Maybe this is partly why plenty of underdogs have progressed.
Mark Selby Vs Mark King

Mark Selby is a wonderful snooker player already a 'World Championship' runner up in 2007 im sure he will go close again this year. Here in Shanghai Selby seemed to have little trouble getting to grips with the pace of the table, breaks of 75, 75, 85, 88 and 105 saw Selby ease past young Judd Trump 5-1 in his opening match and it shows his potting is in pretty good nick.
Mark King had to dig deep to beat a resurgent Jimmy White in the deciding frame, King had to come back from 2-0 and 4-3 to get past White to set up this meeting with Selby. While King will be pleased to get past White, he knows he must improve vastly if he is to beat the much better player Selby to earn a QF berth and im not convinced he will manage it.
1.44 on Selby to win looks pretty good to me tomorrow morning, afterall lets remember like tennis, snooker is a 2 horse race and cant be a draw.
