Champions League - Inter Milan v Werder Bremen
Inter are one of the top 4 Champion's League favorites this season in my opinion. They have finally brought in a quality coach and some decent offensive material. In Serie A, they have won both home games by one goal, against Catania and Lecce, while away they drew at Genoa with Sampdoria, at AC Torina and in the last round, got defeated in the Milan derby by AC Milan. This should be a bounce back game after that disappoiting defeat and there are certainly enough quality players to do so. In the CL, Inter started with a win at Panatinaikos by 2-0 and it was a great performance by them. It seems that Inter will be focusing on CL this season mostly, as after three titles in a row, the hunger for glory at international level has grown. A win tonight would give them 6 points and almost ensure their qualification, so they would be able to take the other matches more easily and use their strength in Serie A where their fight with AC Milan for the title this season will be very blaanced in my opinion. Inter will switch back to the 4-4-2 formation most likely, as the 4-3-3 tried away at AC Milan rather failed. Still, Werder defenders are pityfull in comparison to the ones of Italian teams, so this would be a chance for a great offensive match on Inter's side.
Werder are doing quite well in Bundesliga, standing on 3rd place, 2 points behind the leaders Hamburg. They have 3 wins in a row there, including two crazy games, 5-2 at Bayern, in a match where everything worked for Werder and will not happend again for many years. AFter that cam the 5-4 win over Hoffenheim, a heartstopping match, with Werder leading 4-2 at HT, and finding themselves equalized 4-4 and with a player sent off in the 75th minute, but a late winner in the 80th minute was scored and they won. Now, they will have to cope with a superior offense and a superior defense tonight. The return of Diego empowered Werder, but Mourinho will know that he is the mastermind and will put a defensive midfielder to personally guard him. Rosenberg won't get too many chances, wo Werder will ahve to rely on their midfield, but in my opinion, they will fail and will concede at least 2 goals tonight. Werder opened this CL season with a disappoting home draw 0-0 against Anorthosis, a match where they showed a lot of offensive impotence. Their travels in the CL have been quite poor so far, and tonight i expect them to lose all 3 points.
The odds for an Inter win have risen in the last day, so i will take them now with 8 stakes, as anything but an Inter win would be a huge surprise. Good luck.
