Carling Cup - Liverpool v Crewe

Well, without wishing to tread on lordburts toes, i'm having a similar punt on the Liverpool game as he has done on the Man Utd game.

It amuses me when people like Analyser post the comments he has, as I was annoyed lordburt posted before I did, as i have very similar thoughts about the game as he had. How Analyser can say that lordburt is a prize chaser is beyond me. A few months ago lordburt got a prize from Isaiah and said he did not want it, and as for relegating him.....LOL.

It makes me feel very sad for people like Analyser when they can't see beyond the obvious for a result in a football match. He clearly isn't english, as if he was he will know the pitfalls of betting Carling cup, or come to that, any cup games ( remember how Chelsea got knocked out in the FA cup last year ?? )

Anyway, enough of that.

Liverpool, for all that they are, are playing poor football this season. Forget the United game for a minute ( or actually don't forget it, we'll get back to that ). Liverpool were sterile against Stoke, Sunderland, Villa and Liege this season. The amount of talent available to them is amazing, yet they haven't played 2 good games in a row. The united game was an exception, as, like all teams, they raise their game for the big occasions. A bit like tonights encounter where Crewe will see this as some sort of cup final in itself, and the players will be 110% pumped up for just playing at Anfield. Remember Havant and Waterlooville last season ???? Their players very nearly embarassed the amassed millionaires of Merseyside, and this is the sort of game Crewe will be pushing for from the first whistle to the last.

It will be likely that Gerrard and Torres will be rested as Benny will want to rest them in a supposed "easy" game. They have not been scoring many goals, and have been suspect at the back. With Aurelio supposedly out as well this won't be easy for Liverpool tonight, and there could well be a big surprise.
