Eredivisie - Twente Enschede v NEC Nijmegen
Tonight a match from two strong midtable eredivisie clubs in action in the second round of the Dutch league.
NEC did very well last season, they started the season bad butt managed to win a lot of games after the Winterbreak. They were a big surpise last season, this season is different and I don’t think they can keep up last seasons positive streak. They manage to win their first home fixture this season against De Graafschap with 2-0. However playing against de Graafschap home is a must win for any team.
Fc Twente was last years big surprise under the lead of talented coach Frank Rutte. They manage to finish fourth in the Dutch league wich is very impressive, although Rutte left the club Twente found a good replacement for him, ex-England coach Steve Mclaren. Some of the prominent players of last seasons team left Orlando Engelaar, Wilkshire and El Ahmadi, however Twente managed to replace them with players with equal qualities in the likes of Ronnie Stam, Rajkovic, Kenneth Perez, Thiothe and Theo Jansen. Especially last three players have the more than average qualities for eredivisie standards.
Tonight Twente will for the first time play in their new stadium. So expect a fully packed stadium with Twente fans supporting and cheering cause it will be an atmosphere with festivities. Twente will be highly motivated to win their new stadiums first home-fixture, especially after they drew their first fixture at Roda. I can see Twente rushing from start to score early and entertain the crowd with attractive football, as they have shown their offensive abilities and mature organisation in midfield in the Champions league fixtures. Not to mention is that Twente beat NEC with (4-0 en 3-0) in last two seasons fixtures.
Team missings:
FC Twente: Arnautovic
NEC: John , Worm, Janssen
