NRL Rugby - Brisbane Broncos v Season Winner
I've liked the Raiders throughout the year but they wil go down to the Sharks this weekend as the Warriors will go down to the Storm and we will be left with the Top 6,the other games this weekend I am thinking about a few but really think I can see who will advance as the weeks roll by.
All the remaining sides have enough to take the Title but can they is the question,of the remaining sides and from the beginning of this finals series starting this week there are really in my mind only two sides that can actually win this title and those two sides for mine are the Storm and Broncos.
I think the Storm will get by the Warriors and have a week off,I think the Sharks will down the Raiders and their future wll depend on the Dragons going down to the Sea Eagles and if it's not raining on Saturday night then I would say the Dragons are probaly specials for the up comming weekend at least with any start they are given(But we'll go into that in the preview later in the week) and I think the Broncos will get past the Roosters to line up a second weekend of the Broncos playing the Sea Eagles and the Roosters up against the Dragons in which I would take both the Broncos and Dragons again in those games,Round 1 against the Sea Eagles is the test for this finals series,if the Dragons can make it through they are a massive chance to knock over some sides in there and make it to the Semi Finals but that starts on Saturday Night as they wil have to beat the Sea Eagles to advance. which if all go's according to plan should leave us with major semis between the Sharks and Broncos and Storm and Dragosn in which case I would take both the Broncos and Storm to win and advance to the Grand Finals where I think the Broncos will get them yet again.
The Reasons behind this thought is mainly because the sides who can score when they need to and who can grind out games and that is what these games will be when it comes to the closing stages and in that regard you have the Storm,Broncos and Sharks,I think the Sharks will fall eventually because they don't have that attack that can get the job done in the big matches right now, thats not to say that I don't like them as the Sharks over the last two seasons have been fantastic but I really think that the Side who can do the most damage in this finals series is the Broncos, all teams have something to play for but the Broncos are starting to get that look about them that they might just be ready for the up comming month and once it hits september if the Broncos fire up then the rest of the Comp had better take notice.
The Broncos over the last couple of months have really picked up their game, now you can say "But they had close wins recently" But thats the point the Broncos have been winning without being perfect,Lockyer really has'nt fired except in one off situations to win the game but their forwards in Thaiday,Carroll and the Young Broncos pack are looking pretty good and are making ground ,their backline is not to the class of years gone by but they have that winning is everything attitude and right now I would say of all the sides in the finals they have the most to offer and are looking pretty much invincible right now.
As the season has carried on the Storm have been beaten not much only a couple but there were also games where the other sides could of scored points but did'nt whether on the part of great Storm defence or their own handling errors but that alone has made coaches over recent weeks very intrested and with Bennett enterng his last finals series with the Broncos you can almost read it in the Papers in 5 weeks time.
I could go through all the sides and give you all the plusses and minuses that i can see in the teams but you'll get all of that this weekend in the looks anyway,I know I have'nt gone into it to much but it would take to long to explain, but you should at least get the gist of what i'm saying, there are 4 sides who I think can win the Premiership heading into this finals series, they will be cut from 8 to 2 in 4 weeks time and we will see a winner named,I reckon it's going to be Wayne Bennett and his Broncos standing with the Trophy.
