Jupiler League - Maastricht v Go Ahead Eagles

Maastricht (2-1-1 with 6:3 goal difference) had a tough schedule so far, but they managed to grab some good results. In the last round they won away over one of the title contenders Den Bosch by 3:1 and one week before with the same result at home over Helmond. Their only loss was in the second round when they lost at home to Excelsior by 1:0, playing almost the whole match with one men less.Excelsior is also one of the top teams so given the circumstance it is no big deal. In the opening round they deserved a point away against Zwolle who is also one of the best teams in the league. Their form is in uptrend especially now when several important players return to squad. Important striker Silah, Castellana and Winkens are all back and that is great news.

GA Eagles were pretty much disappointing so far.Last week they won their first match of the season by beating Omniworld at home by 1:0. However their performance was far from being good and it was the same in a draw against Fortuna (1:1), not to mention a 5:0 trashing at Venlo in the opening round. Some important players are still out and it seems to have a great impact on their performance. Oosterhout and Parnela are still out and they are very important. Also out are Colak and their new striker Ranégie.

Hosts are usually very good at home and they have better players than the visitors. Their form is in uptrend, they have pretty much all players available and have a good H2H record against the Eagles at home. All of their recent wins over Eagles were by more than one goal difference and given the current circumstances I believe they can do it again. Safer option is straight win but I will take some risk with this handicap!
