J-League - Shimizi S-Pulse v Gamba Osaka
Shimizu are not doing so well in the league as they are currently only few points above relegation, but the difference between 14th place and 6th place is only 6 points. They used to be a force at home where they have improved a lot lately and it seems they are back on the track. Cup is very important to them and they won all three games at home by a total goal difference of 12:3. They also played well in domestic league where they were unbeaten since mid July until last week when they lost away at Nagoya (current leaders) by 3:2. They will miss defender Takagi and midfielders Hyodo and Fujimoto, however two defenders, one striker and one midfielder come back after injuries so the team should be well balanced.
Gamba on the other hand were fighting for the title almost every year, but this year they are not doing so well. They have only several points more than the hosts and their recent form is just awful.Ever since they`ve sold their best striker Bare they are winless and it will be very hard for them to get a result today against motivated and in-form side like Shimizu. Another big blow for Gamba will be absence of important midfielder Endo, who is away with national team.
In previous seasons, Gamba got results when playing away at Shimizu. However they aren`t as strong as they used to be. Hosts are very motivated in this cup game, they are in way better form and have lesser worries about their squad at the moment. Level ball on home team is quite safe choice IMO, but these odds offered by Bwin surely represent value and I will gladly take `em.I expect both teams to score and something like 2:1 for Shimizu in the end!
Good luck!
