Coupe de la Ligue - Libourne v Nimes

This is the first round of the French cup.These two teams have gone in the opposite direction at the end of the season.Libourne were relagated to league 3, while Nimes got promoted back to league 2 after six years.

Libourne were struggling a lot last season, but things haven`t changed a bit this year when they are playing against lesser opposition. The truth is that most of their key players from the last season left and they brought new ones, who are obviously not as good. Besides they also changed coach and they need to get aquainted to coach`s new ideas and to eachother and that takes time. They are still without a win in league 3 with 2 draws and 3 losses (4:9 goal difference) and they are sitting just above the bottom of the table.

Nimes are not doing much better in league 2, but they played against tough opposition (Lens, Sedan,Troyes...). They seem to have found their form despite losing to Lens cause they were very unfortunate to lose this game and they played well. A week ago they recorded their first win away over Troyes and they will be looking to build their momentum. Recently they have signed two new players (Aliou Cissé from Sedan and young Malaury Martin) to strenghten their midfileld. They should have a competitive squad to fight for survival in league two IMO.

These two met 6 times over the past several years. Nimes won 2 matches, 3 ended as draws, while Libourne managed to snatch one victory. A fact that this is a cup game and hosts are still without a win this season made me think this is a no bet game. However, visitors should be just as hungry to get a result here. They have more quality in their ranks,especially upfront with Kroupi, Malm and Colloredo, while the results show us their form is in uptrend and in this case I have to go with Nimes tonight. It would be safer to go with a level ball here, but I am willing to take a risk with straight away win!
