Kontinental League - Metallurg Novokuznetsk v Dinamo Minsk
Novokuzneck looks about the same strength as last season, maybe a bit stronger, they didn't bought too many players, but also they released only few. In preparation period they had some good results, although it was against "weaker" teams, i think it's against teams that are about same strength as Dinamo Minsk. Great results came in last few days, when they beaten Torpedo 6:0 and 6:2 (that was just three days ago).
Dinamo Minsk is in total contrast to them. They had to change most of the team to compete in league of this level, but i don't think it will be enough. Players that they've brought aren't big names, and probably their best aquisition was Andy Chiodo from Karpat. Their pre-season was catastrophic. They were playing on four tournaments, totally nine games, they've won twice (Barys Astana and SaiPa), and lost other seven, including games against teams like Sport Vaasa (Finnish lower league), MVD or Severstral. They also lost last friendly game against Belarus side Keramin 2:6. Quality between Russian and Belarus teams should be big, and they should close that gap with their transfers. I can say they didn't made it...
Another good thing for this bet is that Dinamo released their coach halfway through preseason (!?). Gardner left the club and although there were no obvious reasons seems that club didn't liked his "american" approach. Since then Dinamo didn't won any of their games.
Although 1.55 might look a bit low for opening match of the season, i think bookies are overestimating Dinamo at this point. They are team like Kryla Sovietov or Molot Perm from last seasons, unprepaired and without team chemistry. I expect easy home win.
