ATP - Rafael Nadal v Sam Querrey
1 September 2008

This should be a pretty one-sided match. Even Querrey is a big server and this tournament is played on a fast surface, the truth is that Querrey isn't unbreakable and he should have no chance in Nadal's service games. The American player uses to underperform against the best players in the world and now on a Grand Slam round he had never reached before against the best player in the world, I can see Querrey having a weak performance, not that if the result would be much different if he plays a good match today.
Besides having the obvious edge in terms of talent, Nadal has another edge: the weather. It will really hot during this match and that will favor the Spanish player, who is super fit and likes this type of weather, while Querrey is clearly an unfit player (had cramps on a 4 set match against Devilder in the second round) and doesn't like hot weather at all. There might be also some wind, which will send the 1st serve percentage of Querrey going to a low number and that's his only weapon which can actually make Nadal struggle a little bit. I predict the first set to be a little bit competitive, but once Nadal wins the first set, he should simply steamroll his opponent in the following sets. Take the under in here.

What makes a bet ?

I generally like [...]
