Ligue 1 - Marseille v Sochaux

Time for me to start the season in the french elite and first tip brings us to the stade Velodrome, home stadium of Marseille.

I'm a bit surprised to see the line standing like that, as I was expected a clear -1.5. Reason is simple as both teams are heading to quite different ways.

Marseille has just started in an impressive fashion, scoring 8 goals in the first two games, securing an away win at Le Havre, and a spot in next CL. At home against Auxerre, they were great on both offense and defense, as Ziani and Zenden seem to have finally adapt to Marseille, while the defensive quatuor keeps on improving. Atmosphere's just great with this good start, and Marseille know that they have a chance for the title, and they got to beat weaker teams especially at home.

Sochaux is starting like last year, terribly. Coach Gillot is very disappointed with the team's display, and said that at this rythm they will have to fight not to get relegated. Sochaux has some problems offensively as no attacker seems to be good enough to help Erding up front.

Of course I believe they have some talent in this squad but I feel they are not ready yet to meet such a force like OM is, that's why I'll go with the hosts to cover the line
