Carnegie League - Wexford Youths v Athlone Town
Still, i see some value in away team +1/4 ball handicap. Wexford had to play in mid week, clash with Cork in Cup, they've surprisingly won 1:0 defending most of the match. That was their 2nd win in a row. Their biggest winning streak in their two years history (i'm not joking, they managed that only three times in history, all three times this season). They are team that can't connect three wins in a row, and team that isn't used to play in high tempo (a game every three-four days). So, they should be pretty exhausted after trip to Cork and fantastic win, but there is more to it. Stuart Lawlor, Kyle and Shane Dempsey are injured, while Joey Wadding and Johnny Flynn are suspended. Three of that five are regular first team players, while other two also had some notable minutes in team. In combination with their schedule i think Wexford will be tired today.
Athlone isn't much better, even their situation with absent players is similar. Jim Sheridan and David O'Dowd are injured, Ian Coffey is suspended, while Jinks and Scullion are doubtful. Only Jinks is really important for team, although Sheridan is also first team regular. Well, Jinks could play, while Keady is back after injury and he is more important then Sheridan. I see this team news as a plus for Athlone, Youths will miss more important players and as i already said, players will be tired after big game in mid week.
Conclusion. Two teams of about same quality, Wexford has home advantage, but team news aren't going in their favor. Level ball here would be fair in my opinion, +0,25 looks like a good bet as i expect at least draw here. Don't understand me wrong, this game could go either way, but with this bet chances are on our side...
