Serie A - Catania v Genoa

A very interesting match this between Catania and Genoa, two teams completely changed after the summer transfert campaign.

Catania, with Walter Zenga still on the bench, will start their third season in the Italian serie A and their seasonal goal is to conquest as soon as possible the fourth safety in a row and then will try to do better than last year. A strong players like Vargas left during the summer but some interesting players like Carboni, Dica and Ledesma are arrived to complete an almost interesting midfield.

In the attack line, Zenga, could have trouble in this beginning of season in fact Spinesi will be out due injury until October and the actual substitutes (Mascara, Morimoto and Martinez) didn’t make good job.

Genoa on the other hand was the last year surprise abiove all thanks to the goals scored by Borriello, but this season Borriello won’t be on the field and his substitute Figoureira will have to show his potentiality. Good players joined the club during the summer ( Di Vaio, Bocchetti, Mesto, Modesto) and Genoa seem to be strongest than last year. Also this year coach gasperini will ask to his players an extenuated pressing both at home and away lining up the team with a 4-3-3 tactic but with two of his three forward ready to cover the midfield in the defensive phase.

Catania at home is supported by a hot crown and usually is very hard to overcome them but they need still time to be definitively competitive, too changes in the initial XI could leave the sign and Genoa is able to score at least a goal here.

For me the best choice here is “both team will score” YES
