League One - Hereford v Crewe
Crewe are expected to struggle this season, but as ive said before they will try to play decent football whatever position they are in. They started the season with back to back defeats against Brighton and Carlisle but i expect these sides to be at the business end of the table come May so the defeats didnt come as a total shock to me. Last Saturday they beat Walsall at home to gain there first 3 points of the season and give them some confidence. In midweek they beat yet another 'Championship' side, my boys (Bristol City) to progress to the 3rd round of the League Cup. I know its easy to dismiss League Cup results but Bristol City started the tie with the outfield 10 that won 3-0 at Coventry at the weekend, they only change was between the sticks, Weale in for Basso. So it was really a victory of some substance and by all accounts they deserved to win the match, being on top for long periods.
Hereford have started the season badly 3 league defeats out of 3 including a thumping 6-1 defeat last time out against Bristol Rovers must see confidence dropping very fast. If you include the League Cup defeat its 0-4 for Hereford this season and already this match could be billed as a relegation 6 pointer.
As ive said above, Crewe play good football and confidence is on the up, Anthony Elding has settled in well already and will we get goals this season, 3.25 against a side off the back of a 6-1 loss is pretty big in my opinion.
