There is no way I can miss this bet. I will place my stakes on Galatasaray and high class players will be fighting for my bet. The different between these 2 teams is like 85 million Euros. Home team costs around 30 million Euros where Galatasaray costs more than 115 million Euros. What bothers me most is the Romanian football system. I know they have discipline and team spirit. Being a Balkan team they are emotional and fight with their hearth. Being a Turkish man I know Romanians as I worked together with many of them abroad. They are friendly, with full of life and crazy a little bit. I think similar to us. I will never forget Hagi and Popescue who added a lot of success to Galatasaray and will always believe Hagi was the best player of Europe in the whole history. But Hagi should also not forget that Galatasaray took his career to the top. Another challenge for Galatasaray is the premium for players. Becali declared to grant all the money that the club will receive from UEFA which is given to every team who enters to CHL. It is like 4 to 5 million Euros. Hmmm … this will be anther motivation for the players of STEAUA BUKRES.
As far as I red from the Turkish media Steaua is very good at home and together with their fans they are like a machine and very hard to be beaten. I wondered and checked their European records in last year. And found out they are not an undefeatable team. In 2007 Steaua Bukres lost against Arsenal and Seville at home and could not kick their net when they conceded 3 goals. And they drew to Slavia Prague 1-1. Well these 3 results in CHL last season are an evidence that Steaua can be beaten at their home field and I believe Becali showed the weakness of his team by granting all the money to the players in case they can qualify to the group matches otherwise would he loose that amount of money. There are good news for Galatasaray as Lacatus is in a little trouble establishing the defense due to doubtful key players. Goian and Golanski most probably will not be fit for the match. As far I heard these 2 players are vital for home team. I do not believe Nesu will give 100 % because this will be his goodbye match as he is transferred to Utrecht. I believe he is eager to play in Netherlands and will not want to risk himself maximum in order not to loose the chance to be fit in his new team. Becali asked a special permission to keep Nesu 1 more match against Galatasaray. But probably this young talent will not risk his health. Lacatus is planning to block Kewell, Lincoln, Arda and Nonda. Well this will not be easy because when Kewell is stopped then there is Lincoln and when he is hold there is Hasan Sas, Arda, Baris. If he has a fear especially from those and no idea what Baris or Hasan Sas can do then he is in the first page of the book. I do not tell his team is not qualified enough but 2-2 draw in Istanbul was an accident and was the first game of Galatasaray in the ne season. This will be the 4th formal game for Galatasaray and will be much different then the first leg of this round.
I will mention about the awesome record of Galatasaray’s qualifying round matches in its history. Matches played: 27, Won: 19, Draw: 7, Lost: 1, Scored: 65, Conceded: 27. This is not a simple record of a simple club. Well you might say to me history is history and Steaua has also good records but when both teams with good history Galatasaray has much better squad. Only Turkish young left wing Arda cots more than 10 million Euros which means he is 33% of Steaua.
In the first leg Skibbe Galatasaray’s new coach made a strange system and it looked like he was enjoying his fantasy. He located Emre Gungor at right and Meira close to midfield. This action he took was resulted by a shocking draw and he got lots of criticisms. It was evidencing that he understood his mistake as he did not repeat the same system in the opening game of Turkish Super League against Denizlispor. This is a good sign and gives a lot of confident in placing my stakes on behalf of away team.
Hagi said “Galatasaray will fight until referee’s last whistle and Steaua should take their rival very serious as if they take it easy then they will burn themselves, Kewell may be the man of the match”
Popescue said “Both teams should be very well concentrated”
A very special information: Referee Matteo Simone Trefoloni (Italy) was on duty in 2 CHL match last year in Turkey. These both games ended with Turkish club’s victory. Besiktas 2-0 against Marseille and Fenerbahce 3-1 against CSKA. Same referee was also assigned in the match Steaua against Bate which drew 2-2. I hope he will bring good luck to Galatasaray as he did before. My stakes on Galatasaray. Good luck.
