Carling Cup - Wigan Athletic v Notts County

Wigan were arguably unlucky not to come away with at least a point on Sunday against champions elect Chelsea. Even though the Deco goal was pure dlass, they seemed to struggle to break down the the assured Wigan defence afterwards and could have easily poked one of their chances in to force a draw, as they have before against the blues. It looks as though Bruce will field a strong side tonight as he seeks to get into the third round and hope to avoid one of the big boys and hope to get to the latter stages of a cup comeptition for the first time in his reign. they face a Notts County side who have hardly set the world alight this season so far with effectively 3 draws in their last 3 games. They struggled over the line in the last round and just managed to use home advantage to defeat Doncaster. This will be a bridge too far for the black and white boys, and I will have this in a double with Man City tonight.
