ATP - Tommy Haas v Richard Gasquet

Name-wise, this is the match of the first round. Tommy Haas has been one of the most consistent player in the US Open in the past four years, having reached quarter finals in three of the last four editions of the tournament. He may not be in the same form as he was in those years, but a semi final appearance on his last tournament in Washington shows that he is still playing good tennis. His good serve and backhand are his main weapons, but in fact he doesn't have a weakness on this type of surface.

I think this is clearly a 50/50 match, with the experience of Haas and his ability to finish better long matches may even give him a little advantage in this match. With Gasquet being such a clear favorite (when he hasn't done nothing special in a long time), makes Haas be the valuable play in here.
