ATP - Viktor Troicki v Carsten Ball

Just a similar pick like with Monfils. Troicki poses great opportunities to play good on hard. Strong serve, he is fit and lately presented great shape. I'm afaird here that since Washington where he reached final he poses some back problems. In New Haven he retired against Cilic after just 3 games. I hope a week was enough to heal up a little and give something good in Us Open. 22 years old Serbian is also one of good talented but not high in ranks players, in last weeks he started to achieve results that could bring him a much higher in rankings, this start in US Open is a real test for him is he ready to fight with top players in ranking. First round is very lucky for him because his opponent is definitely a challenger level player that if Troicki back is health he shouldn't poses any problems to kick out Australian Carsten Ball. Victor proved his value in Washington where he reached final beating before tittle defender Andy Roddick. Against del Potro in final he started well but wasn't able to hold the game on such superb level like Argentinian. Still his game looks good for a while and I hope back problems he noticed in New Haven won't trouble him today. Ball is a big (190cm height), left-handed player that started his career not long time ago and still need to learn pro-tennis in tours with challenger and future rank. Still in last results we can see that his game isn't on Troicki level. Loses to Ram, Bozoljac, Bogomolov, Kim all those players are far away from Troicki skills. Australian wasnt' even playing for a long time in ATP tours so I don't think he will handle the pressure of Grand Slam. Troicki trained yesterday in New York and according to fans that talked to him he seems to be fine and told that he will do his best at FLushing Meadows. He didn't mentioned anything about back problems so I expect there won't be any problems, but you never know. Handicap line look fine, so let's try and let's end first day of US Open betting.
