ATP - Gael Monfils v Pablo Cuevas

Finally the event we all were waiting for starts. Grand Slam direct from Flushing Meadows courts is about to begin and as always in such tours first round offers us a huge offer to bet. Very athletic French-man Gael Monfils should face no problems with Uruguayan that first is a strict clay player and lately struggles badly in all tours. Gael had week and half of rest, where in Olympic event he presented very good game - beating Almagro, Hanescu and Nalbandian and finishing with loss to Djokovic with fair 1:2. Maybe he didn't reached anything special in US Series tours, where he was losing to players like Andreev and Haas, but still we have to remember that these two are two class higher players than Pablo Cuevas. Monfils like to play and can mobilize for Grand Slam, last Roland Garros where Frenchman was a pure revelation show that. On hard I predict he will even play better. His style is perfect for this surface. He improved much his serve and work with former Hewitt coach really stabilized his game. I think he is able to reach some high note in this year US Open. Cuevas lately was playing only in challenger series and loses in early rounds to low player like Gabashvili, Chardy or Slanar don't impress. He reached qualifications, but losing sets with players like Bloomfield or Kuznetsov don't look good when you got to fight in first round with good Gael. I think Monfils is able to cover this line and Pablo shouldn't disturb too much.
