Eircom League - Cork City FC v Bray

Cork is giant favorite tonight against Bray according to odds, but i don't think odds are realistically set. Cork had big problems during last week or so, faced financial crisis and lost derby match versus Bohemians. As a result of their financial difficulties they've had to sell their top striker Dave Mooney (15 league goals this season of Cork's 33). Cork so far was really efficient team, 2nd best after Pats, but from now on i don't think they will score like crazy. Even their recent games show lack of efficiency in attack, if we exclude their UEFA Cup clashes with Haka (2:2 and 0:4) they've played six games with under 1,5 goals result! In this game they might miss 2nd best attacker John O'Flynn who still isn't fully recovered after injury. Cork is underish team, 8-3 in unders favor at home.

Bray is team that has no bigger problems, they are nine points above red line, but few points more wouldn't be too much. In contrast to their "good" league position, their attack is 2nd worst in the league, they score less then a goal per match and i doubt that they can score tonight. However their defense is good enough, they've kept 7 clean sheets in 22 games, including ones against Cork, Derry and Drogs. Minus for them today is that they had two games in mid week, FAI Cup clash with Dundalk (0:0) and replay of that match (3:1). Today they will miss midfielder Cawley (captain), and defenders Kevin Doherty and Ronan Ivory. Bray will come to defend and it's already obvious from their statements and with Cork missing two best strikers it could prove hard to break them.

I can't see here many goals, even if Cork manages to score early they won't press much. But knowing the League of Ireland well, i would say it will be draw on HT, and one or two goals in 2nd half. Under 2,5 goals at this odds looks really good as both teams like to play unders. Bray showed that they are capable of doing it even against big teams and today they will only try to defend. Minus for it is their two games in midweek, but Bray doesn't have bigger injury problems and i think they will amend it. Under 2,5 here
