Jupiler League - Eindhoven v Venlo
FC Eindhoven is one of the weakest teams on the div. So many departures to their roster during the summer, and a lot of youngsters from their second team promoted to the main team. Only two names can make some difference, defender Mario Verheyen who came from Lierse, and young midfielder Bart van Brakel who came from NEC. A sum of 12 players left the team, no need to write their names, was almost half of their main eleven. Eindhoven will miss their best play tonight (one of the division top goalscorers), Fabio Caracciolo, who signed for ADO Den Haag.
VVV Venlo, one of the first candicates for promotion to Eredivisie, after their relegation to Jupiler League.
Their coach Jan van Dijk decided to make a big clearup to the squad. Nordin Amrabat (PSV), Siebe Blondelle (Dender), Raymond van Driel (released), Maico Gerritsen (released), Robin Janssen (released), Peter Jungschläger (De Graafschap), Ekrem Kahya (ADO Den Haag), Edwin Linssen (Roda JC), Jason East (De Graafschap) and Karim Soltani (ADO Den Haag) are all past for the team. All the gaps were filled with the acquisitions of Kevin Dessel (Sint Truiden), Marnix Kolder (FC Groningen), Frank van Kouwen (Roda JC) and Ruben Chess (BV Veendam). Also 3 players promoted from the young team (Soufian Dadda, Rico Kuijpers, Rob Kuijpers). Their preseason preparation was good organised as they didn't have any injuries and gained very good results from the friendlies played. Japanese star Keisuke Hendo (attracted by top clubs from Japan but will continue on VVV) is back from Olympic games and included to the squad.
