Rugby Union - South Africa v Australia
The Wallibies have'nt won in SA for 8 long years but this weekend they have a great chance to get a win in the Republic and stop the rot against a Boks side who might be upset about last weeks game but had better not show up to agressive as the Wallibies will be all out to compound the World Champions woes.
The Wallibies have named a good side for this clash and it has all the hallmarks of being a cracker, the Aussies beat both the AB's and Boks at home and are now looking to carry that same momentum over to South Africa today and they could do it,Robbie Deans has an outstanding record with any side he has coached in South Africa and the Boks also have to deal with injuries caused by the All Blacks last week mainly to Habana, but the Aussies have named a side that can confront the Challenges that the Boks will throw at them and oif the Boks don't play to their strengths and try and attack through their forwards it could be a very long night for them as the Wallibies can and will run.
The Boks have named a good side but can they overcome that loss last week is the real question, last week they had everything going their way and failed to take advantage of it,even when they looked like scoring they could'nt and were always tackled by last gasp efforts from the AB's,the Effort from the AB's in that match was imense and I was not expecting that to happen but it did and the Boks paid for it,this week they get a chance to atone for it but if they don't play clever they are in with a very real shot of losing this match also, the Boks when they lose tend to get aggressive which can have a double sided effect,if the ref lets it go the Boks win but if the Boks annoy the ref early it can cosat them the game,so really the outcome of this match depends more on the tactics of the Boks themselves rather than that of the Wallibies.
Recent Results and it's 5 a peice between the 2 sides but Australia have lost 4 staright in the Republic but their last win did come here in Durban in 2000.
The Wallibies I beleive will win here and if they do they can thank the All Blacks for denting not only the Boks pride last week but also their players, the AB's really smashed the Boks last weekend and all the while the Aussies sat back and took it all in,they have a better coach than the Boks and a more fluent backline, both sides are about equal in defence and it will come down to which side not only takes their chance when it comes but also which side has the better tactics,I can't fault Deans there and while the Wallibies don't have a flash record in South Africa I think with the All Blacks bashing them last week and Deans runing the Wallibies ship that they are well capable of getting up here or only just going down...Either side by 3 for me...Good Luck.
