NRL Rugby - Newcastle Knights v Cowboys

The Knights Top 8 chances took a nose dive last week as they were hit by the in form Raiders while te Cowboys missed another chance to offload the wooden spoon as they fell to the Titans,the Knights are still alive and will be looking for a win today.

The result for the Knghts was one that was evpected last week but this week they have a great chance to atone for that hiccup and keep tjeir fading hopes alive and they should be motivated enough at home to get up in this game against the Cowboys,the Knights were'nt disgraced last week and did play well in patches but the Raiders were just to good and it showed,the Knigyhts have been playing good footy over the last month and ran into a hot side and could'nt get the result against the Cowboys this week it should be tables turned around.

The Cowboys had everything in their favour to offload the Wooden spoon and could'nt do it,I thought that even with Thurston that the Cowboys still looked welll short of their best and the trys they leaked were pretty soft,that effort will have to be far better this weekend against the Knights or they could find themselves on the back end of a thrashing,they still have Thurston this week and a good forward pack but whether it will be enough remains to be seen,I think it won't be and the Knights will send the Cowboys packing.The Knights get Mad Dog and Ngaquama back this weekend. which also does'nt help the Cowboys cjances.

Recent results and the Knights and Cowboys have won 3 a peice in their most recent matches and the Cowboys won the last 2 games at Energy Australia 18-34 last season and 16-18 the season before.

Both sides have alot to playy for the Cowboys to avoid the Spoon and the Knights to keep their season alive,the Start on this match is set at 10 and although the Knights could easily cover this I have my doubts,the Cowboys still have a very gtood forward pack and have their best player back on the park and I think that might be enough for them to have a chance,if the Cowboys can get off to a good start the Knights can run them down but it could be alot closer than many are thinking,personally I think if there is going to be a major upset this weekend then this is the match it will come in and i'm willing to give the Cowboys the benefit of the doubt here and give them the 10 on offer instead of the Knights...Good Luck.
