MLB - LA Dodgers v Colorado Rockies
Wednesday, 8/20/2008 10:10 PM JEFF FRANCIS (L) vs. CHAD BILLINGSLEY (R)
Yesterday I took the over, with the expectation that the Rockies would do more than they were supposed to do and that happened, as they scored 8 runs and won by 8-3. Today I'm taking a total in this series once again, but this time just on the Dodgers, for the value they have in here. The main reason is that with a line of 7,5 runs I don't trust that Jeff Francis can be as consistent against the Dodgers today, who are listed with 4,5 runs in the totals for this game. Francis after having returned to the league has done two outings and in both he didn't impress, as he allowed 5 runs in 8 innings vs Nationals and in his last outing, he allowed 3 runs in 6 innings against the D-Backs, while allowing home runs in both games and only managing to get 5 SO in those games.
Obviously he isn't at his real level and against a team which will come fired up for this game, after having lost yesterday, the spot isn't good for Francis, especially when the Dodgers are 4-1 Over in last 5 games following a loss and seeing their last games vs LHP since Ramirez has joined the team, they are averaging 6 runs/game with a BA of .309! For this game, even though I like the over 7,5 runs, I must confess I like the Dodgers over 4,5 runs even more, as I believe it will be them who will be the main responsible for the runs in this game.
