MLB - LA Dodgers v Colorado Rockies
19 August 2008

COLORADO (57 - 69) at LA DODGERS (64 - 60)
Tuesday, 8/19/2008 10:10 PM UBALDO JIMENEZ (R) vs. HIROKI KURODA (R)
Even though this game had a curious evolution in the totals, with a tendency for the under, as the line began at 8 runs to be now at 7,5 I think we have a good line to explore the over and I'll explain why.
The Rookies after having swept the Nationals in their last series will now send Ubaldo Jimenez (8-11, 3.94 ERA). I understand Jimenez is 19-7 Under this season, but after a great phase, the truth is that he is currently on a mini-slump in his last 2 outings, having allowed 10 runs in 11 innings, while his P/IP ratio of 17.8 and 18.8 isn't good at all.
On the other side, the Dodgers are in great form and today they will send one of the pitchers, who has helped the team a lot in this great phase, Hiroki Kuroda, who has just allowed one run in each of his last 3 outings and the result of that is visible: 1.21 ERA and 0.717 WHIP. However Kuroda will play his second game with just 4 days to rest and when he faced the Rockies in two previous occasions this season, he didn't manage to get any quality start, allowing 10 runs in 12 innings.
The Rockies are a team of streaks and they are 15-1 Over after 2 straight wins by 4 runs or more over the last 2 season. The line of 7,5 runs predicts a game almost perfect for both pitchers and today I think we have conditions for the exactly opposite to happen in here. Take the over.

What makes a bet ?
I’ve often wondered how other guys decide whether to bet or not. I know personally that there are no strict adhereances that I abide by ( there should be……but there isn’t), and I just wondered how you guys out there make a bet, and what makes you bet the amount that you do.
I generally like [...]
