Olympics Basketball - Argentina v Greece

Ok i am still thinking with how many tips and games i am gonna go at the Olympics quarterfinals as at most games there is a clear favorite with a quite big margin.Usa is at the next round already,there is no point i think to discuss about the final winner here,Spain is the main candidate to join the Top 4 of the tournament and if Lithuania do not underestimate hostess China will be the third team.The most interesting pair here is the one between Argentina and Greece.Argentina after the bad start against Lithuania was quite impressive at the next games and easily clinched the second place.The second place is a success since the Americans avoided the U.S and Spain but even if she overcome the obstacle of Greece will find in her way the Americans at the semifinals and this Argentinian team with half a team has no hopes against them.My prediction since the tournament started was that the U.S. can not lose another competition in a row and i still believe this but if there was a team that in a perfect day could beat these guys i think it could be the Greek one again,not because Greece is better than Spain,Argentina or even Lithuania but just because they can face better the American style of playing.

Anyway here the bookies consider Argentina a quite strong favorite for this game by 5 points.My personal opinion is that the odds are 50-50 for the two teams and maybe a little better for the Greek squad.At the game Argentina vs Lithuania my choice was Lithuania to beat the Argentinians(or at least not lose by 4 or more).In that game i saw the Americans having problems against a team with at least 9 players capable to create damage and at the end i proved myself right.Ginobili,Scola and Delfino could not beat alone their European opponents.

For the same reason i strongly believe that Greece has the advantage for this QF game.The two teams met each other four years ago in Athens and Argentina was the winner then.There are some differences of course between these two games.Four years ago the main advantage for the Greek squad was the support of the Greek fans who stood on its side during the whole tournament.Of course at that time Greece had to face an opponent with not only 5-6 reliable and value players.In this tournament Argentina really,really needs Manu Ginobili and Scola as the reserve players have not showed something good.The main difference however is the power,strength and more experience the Greek team has at this time.You do not have to be a basketball expert to see that Greece is a lot better than four years ago.Except from the starting game vs Spain our team had some excellent performances even though the opponents were weaker(i do not count the game vs Usa).

In a previous review i said that the Greek team has never problems against teams with one or two stars.Of course Argentina is not China with Yao Ming and Lee or Germany with Nowitski and Caman but if you manage to keep low Ginobili and Scola then the road is open.Greece has players who can face Ginobili and can force him to make a mediocre performance tomorrow.Delfino and Nocioni can not make the difference here i think.Prignioni will have serious but very serious problems against the opponents guards.Oberto and Scola(mainly Luis)are a level better that the Greek big guys but they are only two and the Greeks are 4-5.

Over is also a good choice here and a good cover for the first one i think as against a team with no luxury for a tough game since the solutions coming from the bench are not many,Greece can easily score 72-73 points.My prediction here is at least 150 points so i will go with both bets.
