After the defeat of Arizona against the Rockies, they are now tied in the lead of their division with the Dodgers and they will need to step their level up, as the Dodgers have done it recently.

Today they will try to win the series against the Rockies and for that, they will send Danny Haren (12-6, 3.00 ERA), who has done a good season, but recently he has decreased his level and he is 6.38 ERA in his last 3 outings. But the D-Backs are still 5-1 on his last 6 starts of Haren, especially thanks to the offense, who has been solving the games for the team. However that hasn't happened in the last start of Haren and the D-Backs lost by 4-11 against Atlanta, with Haren allowing 6 runs in 5 innings, in one of his worst outings of the season.

On the other side, the Rockies know they don't have a great chance to reach the playoffs this season. When everybody was expecting a good run of the Rockies, they lost their series against the Padres and the Nationals, screwing their chances of reaching the postseason. Today they will send the Southpaw Glendon Rusch, who has phenomenal recently. He has been the most consistent pitcher of the team, with the team going 4-1 on his last 5 starts. We only need to see the sequence of runs allowed by Rusch to check that: 2-2-3-3-2. Today I expect Rusch to continue his good form.

Yesterday these two teams had an high scoring affair with two pitchers who were struggling, but today I expect the opposite. Rusch has been very well recently and Haren is preparing to bounce back today, as he comes from two back to back non-quality starts and that has happened three times this season. In those three times, Haren has just allowed 1, 2 and 0 runs in the following game, so I expect a good performance from both pitchers today, with the offenses struggling to score. The under is a value bet in here.
