WTA - Aleksandra Wozniak v Julia Vakulenko

I'm quite surprised to see such quite high odds for clear Wozniak win. 20 years old Canadian presented better in many aspects than her today opponent 25-years old Ukrainian Julia Vakulenko. Wozniak noticed one wonderful performance not long time ago in Stanford, where she claimed the tittle beating players like Stosur, Bammer, Williams and Bartoli. After that she lost in first round in Los Angeles against Pennetta, but as we know Wozniak was unagle to cancel her performance there and probably she just gave up this match. In Montreal sadly she reached only second round but I'm not surprised because it is always hard to win against new world no. 1 in WTA - Jelena Jankovic. Here in Cincinnati she won against Nakamura in first round holding solid serve and without too many mistakes. I think this tour when all stars are in Beijing will be real confirmation for Canadian and we will know was Stanford one-tour-surprise or she really is in good form. Opponent for second round is really at her range and I think clear win is at her hand. Julia Vakulenko is passing through one of the worst season in her career. Mainly becouse of injury she wasn't able to perform for a long time. It's been a while since she is playing quite often but still her results show that she can't find herself on court. I really don't remember when she advanced into 3'rd round of any tour. It will be her first tour in America and second on hard after grass and clay season. Not long time ago she was losing to players on similar level to Wozniak and I guess she still isn't ready to get back on right trial. In first round long and painful way against Nicolescu, where she won a three setter. 12 break points opportunities and Nicolescu used five. Much weaker statics on serve which don't look good before match against Wozniak, who is deffienietly a stronger opponent than Nicolescu. Well, a match confirmation, what Stanford really was? I believe that Wozniak is in good form and players like Vakulenko at such form are no danger for her.
