UEFA Cup - Aris v Slaven Koprivnica

Aris Salonica had a busy summer with some important departures from their roster, but they are still a very strong team this season again, especially to the attacking line. Coach Dusan Bajevic is past, Kike Ernantez now is sitting to the bench, while important defender Papadopoylos signed for Olympiakos, midfielder Ivic signed for PAOK, and keeper Chalkias signed also for PAOK. Apart from these departures, they managed to signed some very good names for their attacking line. Regeiro from Valencia joined Aris, and together with Sergio Koke and Havito, they are a very strong attacking trio. Bation and Garcia are very creative for their midfield, and i am sure that they will make Slaven work very difficult today. Aris maybe is weaker to the defence in comparison with last season, but i think it is just a matter of time for their new signing Argentinian Lembo to cooperate with R.Giaro well in the defence. This is the first official game for Aris to this new season, after a series of good friendlies played at home against Bolton (1-1) and Brugge (4-0). Support from the fans will be hot tonight, although the town is half empty due to summer holidays. Aris will play their classic attacking game from the first minute.

Croatian Slaven Belupo Koprivnica will play their 3rd official european game this season as they thrown out of the UEFA Cup first round Marssaklox from Malta with total score 8-0. For their domestic league, they started very well the season, with latest result the important win to the derby away to Varteks (2-3), and they already count 2 wins from the three games played. They will not face any problem with the hot weather here in Salonica, as they have the same climate at Croatia these days. Slaven travelled to Salonica with full squad.

Aris is stronger at the moment, with more quality to their squad, and they are ready for their first official win in front of their fans. A good score for them to this first leg will make things easier next week.
