Jupiler League - Zwolle v Maastricht
A sum of 17 players came into the club, while 13 was released/sold. Some of the good names left are Portuguese striker Toze (released), defensive midfielder Koen Garritsen (released), left back Nikolas Moisander (sold to AZ Alkmaar), and defensive midfielder Jordy Zuidam (sold to Go Ahead Eagles). All other 9 players left was fridge players that didn't had a lot of participations last season. The players came are one level above, with most important attacking midfielder Marcel Kleizen (Twente), striker Luis Javier Guarino (Defensor Sporting), Kaprilak (Inter Bratislava), 'Thiago' Grizolli (Brazil), Czech midfielder Radek Gorner (FC Slovacko), striker Roel de Graaff (Haarlem), striker Johan Plat (Volendam) and the talented attacking midfielder Dominggus Lim-Duan (Eindhoven). They also promoted 4 players from their young team. All in all they have strengthen their squad a lot, and the club organised well at all levels.
To the other side, MVV lost several main eleven players. Important Belgian midfielder Ebou Sillah transferred to FC Brussels, another important Belgian midfielder Maxime Annys was released, while another 6 Belgians of the squad was released too (Filip Bollen, Roel Goffin, Omer Ozpoyraz (half turk), Fatih Kantarci, Jo Vermast, Yannick Uerlings). A massive clearup of belgians, with also all 3 keepers released. The new faces of the squad are only 5. Three of them 18 years old unkown young Belgians (one of them keeper), and the biggest name that came is turk Bulent Akin from Istanbulspor. Last player who joined the team is Job Bulters (goalkeeper) who came from Telstar. All in all their squad is weakened, so many main players released, and all the cash was spent to bring Bulent Akin to the team. The squad is small and thin.
Head to Head stats are amazing for Zwolle against MVV during the last 6 years.
Zwolle FC Maastricht MVV 7:0
Zwolle FC Maastricht MVV 3:1
Zwolle FC Maastricht MVV 4:1
Zwolle FC Maastricht MVV 2:1
Zwolle FC Maastricht MVV 1:0
Zwolle FC Maastricht MVV 4:1
Although it is early to judge, i think that 7 stakes are well worth for Zwolle to win to their new stadium against weakened MVV.
Good Luck.
