NPC Rugby Union NZ - Hawkes Bay v Northland

Hawkes Bay were smashed last weekend by Wellington dn I thought that the loss itself was quite telling,the Maggies looked to have not much in structured attack and their defence was a bit holey also,the Tanwhas last week had a great win over Waikato and I have to say that their defence was brilliant as it was last season,I get the feeling that the dream might be ending for Hawkes Bay but the Taniwha are on the rise this season.

Hawkes Bay looked very one dimensional in attack and in defence and the Lions took advantage of that and romped home in that game,this week they wil really have to get better if they are to beat the taniwhas,They showed next to nothing last week and with not many other players of a great calibre to bring into this Magpies side they look to have little to no answers for the problems they had last week.

Northland were fantastic last week,the Field up there looked great and even with no ball and little field position the Taniwha won and did it easy,Waikato had 82% of the first half ball and 65% of the first half ball was in Northlans 22 and yet they struggled to score fo the entire match,last season Northland were good in defence but could'nt score enough points,this match this week last year was Northlands biggest score and the most they conceeded also in losing 35 - 29 to Hawkes Bay,this year however I doubt the Maggies will score 35 thugh aganst that defence.

I like Northland and the odds here are no where near as high as what you can get over in the UK and I would take a punt on these odds for sure,Northland showed last week against a very good side that they can tackle and score long range trys,their forwards and backs both were great and with Holwell leading the side around the Park they are a chance at any side in this Comp this season...take the Taniwha to win...Good Luck.
