This game is very much a danger game for the Sharks, they sit in the Top 4 but are being Chased hard by the Broncos,a loss here would leave them in the Top 4 but if the Broncos can win in Auckland then they close the gap ever closer with the Sharks themselves tralleving here next week to play the Warriors, the Bunnies had a great game last week and beat the Warriors 18-16 and looked pretty good in doing so,their dreams of a Top 8 Finish hinge on this game so a very important match for both sides.
The Sharks won last week but they never loked like winning really untill that Kimmorley try, their defence was good but once again they struggled to score points and were kept scoreless for over 66 mins of that match last week, this week the Sharks have Bird again and he should be better for the run last week although I thought he played pretty well anyway and the Sharks only miss Snowden through a trip to the Judicary, but the Sharks looked very avergae for large parts of that game last week with the ball and even though the Dragons played a very good defence even when the Sharks made small breaks they never looked as though they could score from them,I get the feeling that when I watch the Sharks I am watching a side with alot of scoring talent and two very good halves who have become so used to finding it hard to score points that even when they have chances to do just that they find ways to make it harder than it really should be and only convert those chances at about 30% which is just no good, the Sharks unless they can fix that and they are fast running out of time to do so could be one of the best sides to not win the Finals,in defence the Sharks have been solid all season log and yet with ball in hand they look brainless.
The Bunnies are in up and down side of that there can be no question, but when they win they show up for the next game, the last time they beat the Warriors they won their next few after that, but the Bunnies can score points and can conceed them, the real question in this game is can the Bunnies score points and can they score about 16 or more and the answer to that is probaly yes they can,the Bunnies have the right peices in place to score points, with Merritt at the back,Luke in the Dummy half and Wing,Sandow and Sutton they have the players in the mix to create chances and in most games normally do,I kind of like them to win this game outright in an upset.
Recent Results and the Bunnies have won 4 of the last 6,the Sharks beat them 12-10 in Round 5 this season but the Bunnies won both games in 07 and in Rd 3 of last season they beat them here 26-16 but were really getting wasted in that game but the Bunnies started dropping the ball and the Sharks scored a few late trys to up their score.
The Sharks in their last 4 games have scored 6.16,13 and 12 points and unless they can fix that they will lose this game, the Bunnies can play and are hard to beat, the Sharks if not at full tilt from the outset in this game ould be in trouble and i'm willing to say take the Start on the Bunnies as 8 or 9 points is far to much, the Sharks don't score points and the Bunnies do,Thats what I reckon anyway,i'll take the Start at the TAB on the Bunnies with a decent bet and look for the upset on here...Good Luck.
