The Dragons lost last week to the Sharks after being in front and playing very well for 70mins of that game before losing it in the last 10 mins, the Tigers blasted the Bulldogs off the Planet with a massive 56-4 win thatn could of been worse if not for some bad passes, the Dragons are in the 8,the Tgers are just outside it,2 Great games to kick off this weekends NRL Action with the Sea Eagles and Storm playing at the same time......
The Dragons get Gasnier back for this game but are missing even more players,Morris is gone and Nightingale moves to Fullback to accomidate Stanley on the wing, but the Dragons are still without Ryles,Poore and Creagh and are now missing both the Morris Twins who have been fantastic for them, the Dragons have been great in defence in recent weeks allowing no points against the Bulldogs and not conceeding untill very late against the Sharks, but once they opened they opened alot,I am a Dragons suppotter and as such there is one team I fear more than any other in games that we play and that side is this very side that we play this week, the Dragons did'nt need to be missing the players who are now out and really did'nt need the Tigers to win big last weekend against the Buldogs, while I can still find plenty of positiives with the Dragons I cannot say with true confidence that they can win this game,at home this season they have been tragic and in games they are expected to win even more so,will Gasnier be at Centre or Fullback? I have a feeling that he might just be at Fullback or wing and because of that we could see the same dis jointed Dragons that have come out and lost their last few home games.
The Tigers lose Tagive for this match and are stillwithout Hodgson but even missing those plkayers they still have a side and gameplan worthy of beating the Dragons, the Tigers play an up tempo game that does work and although nothaving the size of the Dragons forward pack or the Dragons backs the Tigers do have a few things in abundance in this game, mainly speed and a great gameplan put together by one of the best Coaches around in Tim Sheens, the Tigers and Dragons play different types of games and while the Tigers don't normally get pulled into playing a slog it out type of game they can and normally do draw the Dragons and other sides into a fast type game which suits the Tigers rather than their opponents hence the reson the Tigers have such a good record against the Dragons.
Recent results and the Tigers have won 5 of the last 7 and have won 2 of their last 3 against the Dargons on Dragons Turf.
The Dragons have a few different home grounds and in past seasons have been dominant especially when playing at Win Stadium, however I was at their last Home game there aganst the Raiders in a game where they lost and this season at Win Stadium the Dragons have played 4 games there and have won twice and lost twice,it's intresting to note that the Games they won were in Origin time in which they beat the Broncos and Titans, while the other two games were against two sides noit missing players and they lost both to the Cowboys and Raiders.
I used to,like Brownie but I have become more and more frustrated by his selection policies and his changing positions of players most notably Gasnier who last time at Win Stadium started at Centre but was moved to wing on either side as well as Fullback which was very frustrating as he was never in the game, the Tigers have the game to beat the Dragons and I think that once again history will repeat itself, the Dragons forward pack is missing some key players and as such the size of their pack has really come back to that of the Tigers, the game itself will be won on which side can dictate their stlye of game on this match, the Tigers are a fast running side and don't deviate from that and because of that I think the Tigers are worthy of a punt here, take the Tigers here...Good Luck.
