ATP - Tommy Haas v The Field
10 August 2008
Preview By Tipster Sankekur (Poland)
No. 1 - Andy Roddick, as he informed his fans he want to prepare well for coming US Open and that is why he isn't going to Beijing. Well, Andy have hell a lot to prepare because his current form is far away from good. In Toronto, on his favourite hard he loss to young Cilic. In Cincinnati he retires because of neck injury. After quite good start of 2008 season Andy slowed down a little and in last weeks he isn't showing anything that could points on Los Angeles tittle.
No. 2 - Fernando Verdasco, besides of this guy psyche problems in matches, he isn't really know what is going on on hard. Week ago loss to Lapentti who is strict clay courter and before that weak game against Bellucci who is even worst on hard. No, Fernando don't look too good here.
Other of top seeded player - Del Porto isn't ready to rock on hard, he catch nice form for clay and won two tours one by one and I don't see him to claim third without a loss, especially that surface changes. Moya in spite of good performance in Cincinnati don't impress me, his tennis is slow, weak and without any fire. No other else I see really that could match for the trophy. Maybe Feliciano Lopez, but this guy also loves to freak out on court, like we saw against Seppi few days ago. Tommy really impressed me in Cincinnati. Very good game against Youzhny, few excellent exchanges. Quick fight with injured Monfils and quite equal fight against Nadal, sadly he lost. In my opinion looking on last week performances Haas looks to be the strongest. He knows how to play and he seems to be at full health. With all top seeded players in this tour he already won in this season. I think if his psyche and body will be ok he is able to grab this tittle. Odds are tasty, let's try it!
