ATP - Tommy Haas v Donald Young
6 August 2008

I fully understand that junior player whatever how much he is talented he need time to change his ways into real, mature tennis. Donald Young in spite that many experts and past starts like McEnroe describe him as a golden child of court don't show too much. By now he is just overrated 18-years old player that in my opinion poses not much chances in clash against players like solid Tommy Haas. Young in this season play really weak. Maybe he is fast, athletic but still his tennis is raw and many times he don't know how to get calm and strike right. He isn't ready to handle the opinion of future star. In past months I really don't remember where he proved his value passing first round with someone enough good and without problems. With players that are on half of Haas level he lost clearly and with 3'rd league players like Jun he had painful way. Haas is a solid player and in my opinion if in his long career injuries haven't bother him he would be a much, much powerful player. But still when Tommy is free from health and life problems he is showing some real good tennis and in my opinion lately Tommy is in well form. Who know, maybe he will win this tour? I'm thinking about bet on lifting a trophy by him. On hard he feels good and in last tours I like his game. Loss to Gilles who is in superb form, if Haas had some better psyche immune he could win that match. Loss to Davydenko in Toronto. Beautiful win over Youzhny in Cincinnati, beat Monfils and quite equal fight with Nadal but finally lost. Haas seems to build a fine form for US Open, he resigned from Olimpic Games and I think he might fight for real in this tour. Before that he need to crush Young. In my opinion it is an easy task for German.
