Minnesota finally made it! They leading right now the AL Central after the White Sox lost yesterday at Kansas City and the Twins victory against the Indians. They lead by just half game but for a team who struggle every time they had a chance to reach the top is just more than a simple lead.

Today they start a series against the Mariners and they send to the mound the Southpaw Glen Perkins 4.20 ERA 8-3. Perkins is 3-1 in road games with 4.17 ERA and he’s coming of two non-quality starts against the White Sox and Yankees but take not that he in the previous game held the Rangers to a scoreless 6 innings, so I think we will see a bounce back today. Meanwhile, the Mariners won yesterday against the Orioles 8-4 and today they

will turn to Miguel Batista 6.43 ERA 4-11. The Mariners lost the last 3 games with Batista on the mound (as a starter): 8.10 ERA 1.80 WHIP 0-1 and in home games Batista has the awful mark of 9.45 ERA 2.251 WHIP!I think the Twins has a great chance to keep the pace today, the Mariners aren’t a good team against lefty pitchers, in fact they lost 6 of the last 7 games vs LHP and although Batista made a quality start last game at Texas just remember that the Mariners are 0-4 in Batista’s last 4 starts following a Quality Start in his last appearance. The Twins have the momentum and facing just a weak team as Seattle I doubt they blew the chance to keep up the pace. I’m splitting the bet in ML and RL as Perkins is 7-1 against the run line when playing against a team with a losing record this season. (Team’s Record) and the Twins are MINNESOTA is 8-1 against the run line (+9.3 Units) vs. an AL team with a batting average of .260 or worse in the second half of the season this season. Take the Twins today.
