ATP - Novak Djokovic v Rafael Nadal
2 August 2008

This is clearly the match of the day, but the best what it could have happened to Nadal this week, has already happened yesterday, when he assured that on August, 18th he will be the new number one of the world. Obviously he will continue to give his best in order to win this tournament, however he hasn't almost stopped playing since Roland Garros and a letdown will have to happen somewhere in the next days. He may not be physically tired, but he must be physically tired with all it has been happening in the last week, which culminated yesterday, with his certainty of becoming the number one of the world in two weeks from now. Even though he has been on-fire lately, his draw this week was fairly easy, Haas and Lapela aren't exactly really tough opponents for Nadal right now. Still Nadal wasn't able to cover the game spread in his last two matches against Haas and Lapentti, showing that his level isn't being as high as it was in Montreal last week and in Wimbledon.
Novak Djokovic after a disasterous month, with an early elimination at Wimbledon and a loss in Montreal against Andy Murray, has bounced back and he has reached semi finals in here. He is in theory, the best hardcourt player of the world in 2008, as he has won the only Grand Slam played on this surface this season and in the way he has dominated Nadal on hardcourt in the past two seasons, I would say he has no fear in facing Nadal today, Djokovic has defeated Nadal in hardcourt in the last three times they have played each other and without dropping a single set. Already this season, Djokovic defeated Nadal in Indian Wells by 6-3 6-2. Obviously circumstances are now different, but I'm not sure they are that different that Djokovic has to be now such a big dog. Nobody is unbeatable and Djokovic has one of the best scenarios possible against Nadal to show us that. Take Djokovic plus the games in here.

What makes a bet ?
I’ve often wondered how other guys decide whether to bet or not. I know personally that there are no strict adhereances that I abide by ( there should be……but there isn’t), and I just wondered how you guys out there make a bet, and what makes you bet the amount that you do.
I generally like [...]
