It is a real shame that a player that I remember from my very beginning of my passion for watching tennis matches now is struggling so badly. Carlos Moya is very close to an end of his career and his last performances show that for sure. Former no. 1 is only a shadow of great Spaniard years ago. Now we don't see such perfect hits, such fighting spirit, such stamina. Just an old man running and trying to do his best but it don't work often and often. I was watching Moya game against Tommy Haas week ago and Spaniard game was on very low level. Second serve is awful and his backhand is a mine of points for his opponents. Carlos even on his favourite clay surface didn't showed anything special this year, losing to Fabio Fognini for such well-known player is a real shame. Moya poses big problems with his serve and he isn't able to hold whole match because weak stamina. I respect much Moya, but with this that he showed lately I don't see many chances for him. I don't believe he re-build his game in only a week and I expect same struggling today, especially on faster hard surface, here in Cincinnati. Janko Tipsarevic talented and unpredictable Serbian player is worth for a shot here. In spite that he lost week ago against Nicolas Mahut his game looked much better. He poses strong serve, also like to shot many unforced errors but still he is a kind of fighter that don't give up easily. Mahut played wonderful match and Janko took few too much errors and he loss finally 1:2 in sets but he left good impression in my opinion. Now it is big chance for young Serbian, because Moya is so weak. If he will only play his own game, don't freak too much I'm pretty sure he will make it and finish Carlos.
