WTA - Medina Garrigues v Flavia Penneta Tennis betting preview

Number 32 on WTA ranking Anabel Medina Garrigues will take on number 56 Sara Errani in the final of the Slovenia Open.

Anabel Medina Garrigues played her first round against Ekaterina Makarova 57th ranked, and won 6-1 6-3. In the eight-final she played Julia Vakulenko 86th ranked and won again, this time with 6-4 6-4. The next round she played against Elena Bovina who was only ranked 224th, so she won 6-4 6-3. And in the semi-final she played Julia Goerges 100th ranked, Medina won 6-3 2-6 6-4. But she was so weak that it was a surprise to me that she managed to beat Goerges who played really well. She had problems with her serve, and Goerges did well to pressure her.

Sara Errani made her way to the final by winning against much better oponents. Errani started the tournement with a win over Camerin Maria-Elena (127th) in 6-7 6-2 6-1. In the eight-final against fellow Italian Santangelo Mara (181th ) 6-2 6-4. And now she really started to impress, in the quarter-final she played against the number 19 in the world, Maria Kirilenko, and Errani still managed to win in 2 sets: 6-1 7-5! But it gets even better, last night she played Caroline Wozniacki (29th) who was in great form as she won her matches 7-5 6-0, 6-1 6-1,6-0 6-1 and than got beaten by Errani. Errani really played some good tennis last night, she impressed me. A very strong serve, not a lot of unforced errors, and she is a lot faster than Medina.

I think that if Errani can stay cool tonight, she will win. To me Medina didn't deserved it to come this far, she isn't in the final because she was that good, the others were just worse! If Errani plays like she did yesterday, and Medina will do too, this match will only need 2 sets. To me these odds are only based on WTA ranking, not on current form and tournement stats. Thats why I go for Errani here. Good luck!
