These two players have faced twice in the last twelve months on fast surface and Kiefer got the win on both occasions. Honestely I'm thinking the same will happen again today. Youzhny hasn't been impressive at all in the last month, by giving absolutely no fight at all against Nadal in Wimbledon and then losing to Garcia-Lopez in Gstaad. He defeated in the first round an out of form Andreas Seppi and with him struggling on his serve, he will have problems in facing a big server like Kiefer. The German player has always some injury concerns, but he is careful and he doesn't even try when he is injured. He won his first round match against Fish by 7-5 7-6, showing his ability to win close matchups. Kiefer baseline game and net play are really good and even though Youzhny would get the edge in the baseline and find it good to have a target in the net if he was on form, but that's not the case. Youzhny isn't mentally very stable and knowing that Kiefer has defeated him twice in such a short span of time, he may not be able to play on a comfortable way for him. Take Kiefer to win.
