We seem to be going win, loss, win loss on thes games so we should be in for a win here as the biggest Grudge match in the All Blacks and Wallibies historys plays itself out this weekend.
I may not be in NZ but I can imagine it,Robbie Deans was the Countrys Hand picked Coach in waiting after the AB's lost the WC last year, but the NZRFU turned their backs on the public's opinion and went back to Henry which then released Deans to the Wallibies, people back home were still saying that they won't support the AB's against Deans, personally I think that rubbish, but this game is a grudge match more for the NZ public than the two men in the heat of the battle,I said before the Tri Nations that I expected the Wallibies to take it out,I expected them to lose last week and win this game, last week they played against a very lethargic Boks side and won in a very ugly boring game in which the Bojks just could'nt get over the line late,so what to expect this weekend??
The All Blacks were looking to Mc'Caw to come back this week but it was'nt to be and now Braid who has been a standout in recent seasons in NZ gets his chance and he will play as he always does, well,Thron is back for the AB's and Kaqhui is in at Centre, all in all the AB's have named a very good side for this match, sure they are missing a few players but really this is the best we have to offer and against our closest rival you expect this game to be close no matter which way it gos.
The Wallibis have lost Mortlock and even though they have Cross and Tahu in their side the loss of Mortlock is huge,Tahu and Cross are both good defenders and hard attacking runners but the one thing they don't have is the experience of Mortlock and that is a big question mark for me,Mortlock runs great lines and can recognise play as it is happening,Tahu and Cross are still League converts and could get lost in the mix in the mid field and that could cost the Aussies, apart from that and the Aussies have named a very strong side also who will be up beat after beating the Boks in a game that not many myself incuded thought they would, but that game last week is hard to gauge as the Boks had been beaten up by the AB's 2 weeks in a row and they had already gotten their reward which was a win in NZ so last weeks game was a bit of a letdown for them. They are a chance here,a big chance, but with the AB's being rested for a week now I think they might just be able to get up here tonight, but iot is 50/50 at best.
Recentm Results and the All Blacks have won 6 of the last 7 between these two sides, the AB's lost to the Wallibies last year in Melbourne when the Wallibies made that great second half comeback to win the game, but that has been few and far between, the Aussies in Australia have won 5 of the last 8 played between these two sides all close games, the games the Wallibies have lost have been by alot.
This game will be close and could go either way,the Aussies will be confident and under Deans are yet to lose a game, the All Blacks were lucky to win one against the Boks and are missinf our best plaer in the rucks and mauls and speed wise are just as quick as us if not more,I said before the Tri Natons started that I like Aussie to win it and that we would struggle and so far we are,I can see us winning in the first half but beibg run down in the second after a team talk by Robbie,Hard to call,Flip a coin if you like but i'll take the Aussies to get by the All Blacks this weekend in a close one...Good Luck.
