Voeckler Special Market
It's impossible not to like Voeckler. The most older fans of cycling, well not that old, remember in 2004 the mythic race of Voeckler, holding on his yellow jersey for 10 days. He got the yellow in a long breakaway and survived three mountain stages, for example the finish in La Mongie and Plateau de Beille and kept his yellow. A pure example of motivation and strenght beyond the normal to keep the symbol of the best in the Tour - (http://www.cyclingnews.com/tour04.php?id=photos/2004/tour04/stage13/4) .
Since then Voeckler developed has a cyclist, became a very interesting cyclist for small tours and a very agressive cyclist. He started to collect points for the mountains early in the Tour, and kept the jersey for many days. Voeckler surprised today, attacking soon and getting more points in the Lombarde.
But how can he beat Kohl? Well, in my opinion, it is not impossible. Kohl has this classification won if tomorrow he finishes in the top 3 of the stage. 40-36-32, it enough points to knock-out Voeckler and the others.
However, Voeckler can still have a chance. If Voeckler attacks tomorrow and gets in the break of the day, like happened today, he has three mountains until the Huez: 3rd category Saint-Marguerite, Galibier and Croix de Fer, two special category climbs. Kohl can't attack, the peloton will control him, and with a likely big break, he won't make any points in this three climbs.
If Voeckler gets in the break of the day tomorrow, for sure he will cut many of the 30-point difference against Kohl. It's important also to Kohl not to make many points in the final climb.
Voeckler also has points to win in the 18th stage (a 2nd, 3rd and 4th climb). I specially like the 19th stage: two mountains right in the start, a 3rd and a 4th category - 8 points that can easily be picked by Voeckler.
It's impossible to Kohl to attack in any of this mountains: he must save energy to the overall and the peloton will control him of course - he is in second position and after Huez maybe better.
So, with this odds, a valueable bet in Voeckler is interesting. If Voeckler gets in the break of the day tomorrow and grab some of those 45 points right before Huez, he will have a fight for the mountains! A breakaway to win in Huez is not impossible and would make Kohl to lose points.
@26.00 is a very interesting odd to try this, even that is a bet fulled with "if's".
