J-League - Albirex Niigata v Jef United Ichihara
16 July 2008
Preview By Tipster Octavian (Romania)
Niigata stand on 6th place, 6 points behind the leaders Kashima. Their home record is quite good, 5-1-2 with a 11-7 GD. They've had a bad start of the season, but lately they have been going very well, getting 4 wins in a row at home, and an away win in the last match at Yokohama.
Jef are last in the standings, with 9 points 16 games. Their away record is horrible, 0-2-6 with a 4-19 GD. Their current form is even worse, losing their last two games 0-3 both, but the last game was a real disaster, as the defeat came at home against the relegation contender Sapporo.
Head-to-head in recent years shows good results for JEF until 2007, when Niigata started to grab some wins. But it is not that relevant, as today's match is not a bet for Niigata's good form, but rather a bet against poor JEF, and i believe today's hosts can get a 2-goal win without many problems. I am thinking 3-0 or 3-1 here, but i am going to play it safe once again, taking only the -0.75 handicap. Good luck.
