MLB - Pittsburgh Pirates v Tampa Bay Rays Baseball betting preview

Yesterday was the "Day of the Ending of the Streaks" in the MLB as teams who have had major streaks going on all fell or rose today,Tampa lost to the Pirates,Milwaukee got by the Twins,the Astros beat the Red Sox,St Louis finally won a game against the Royals and Lincecrum is yet to be beaten on the road this season after pitching his way to a 1-0 Giants win over the A's,I watched the Tampa game that just finished and it was a very good game and tomorrows game should be a chance for either side to get back on the run sheet,the Pirates halted the Rays winning streak yesterday with a 13 inning 4-3 win.

The Pirates go with Gorzelanny (RHP) 6-6 with an era of 6.43,I watched his last start in which he recorded a win but he was lucky to say the least,he twice loaded up the bases in the 1st and 3rd with Yankee runners but the Yankees hitters failed to capitalise on that and the Pirates did on theirs to win 12-5,Gorzelanny in his last 3 starts has numbers of 2-1 with an era of 5.09,however Gorzelanny has only lost once at home in his last 7 starts there.

The Rays go with Sonnastine (LHP) 8-3 with an era of 4.85,Sonnastine in his last 3 starts has numbers of 2-0 with an era of 4.70.Sonnastine has been very good recently and in his last 5 games that he has started in the Rays have won 4 of those games,his last loss was 2 games ago to Oakland.

Against RHP the Rays are 34-23 and the Pirates against LHP are 11-14.

Tampa lost yesterday but have won 8 of their last 10 while with that win for the Pirtaes they now have a last 10 record of 5-5.

These two sides have played 6 straight games with the total being over 9 runs and yesterday was the first time it had fallen under but their is every indication that it will rise again today...

Gorzerlanys last 5 starts have ended in these scores..

5-2 a win against the Braves,8-4 win over the Bucks,3-4 a loss against the D-Backs,7-5 a win over the Nationals and 12-5 a win over the Yankees his most recent start,but his real trouble in his walks,he has walked 19 hitters in those games and his first and third innings are by far his worst,Tampa have good hitters throughout their line up and will take advantage of that.

Sonnastines last 5 starts have been as so..

5-4 a win over the Blue Jays,3-1 win against the Cardinals,1-9 a loss against the A's,5-4 a win against the Rangers and his last start which was another win 6-4 against the Marlins,he has not none much wrong in his most recent starts and Tampa could easily get back on track here.

I like Tampa to bounce back but I like the total even more,Gorzelanny is a walk machine and the Rays should get some early runs but it is also intresting to note that even with Gorzelannys troubles that the Pirates still give him great run support and at home Gorzelanny in his last 5 starts there has recieved 12,7,8,3 and 5 runs of support when playing at PNC Park.

I like this Total and with yesterdays match being so close and so long I am expecting one if not both of these teams to explode today...Take the total runs to be over 9.5....Good Luck.
