ATP - Lleyton Hewitt v Simone Bolleli
Rematch of the second round of this tournament in 2007, where Hewitt won by 6:2 6:2 6:1. Obviously Bolelli has improved, but he is still far from being a good grass courter. His two wins in here have fair explanations. In the first round, he faced Alex Bogdanovic, a played almost out of Top 300 and that never won a match in Wimbledon, even though he received seven wild cards to the main draw of this tournament. Then in the second round, he defeated Fernando Gonzalez by 7:6 7:6 3:6 7:6, but Gonzalez isn't a great player on grass and actually his game isn't suited for the surface, as he needs a more regular bounce to hit his forehand shots inside the court and his sliced backhand isn't good enough to be a great weapon in here. If we look back to what Simone Bolelli did in the warm-ups for this tournament, he lost by 6:3 6:3 against Richard Gasquet and 6:1 6:4 against Julien Benneteau in Queen's and Nottingham respectively. Barring this mini-run in here, he never did absolutely nothing on grass before and even though he is young and improving almost every month, he still lacks a lot of things to be considered a good grass courter.
Lleyton Hewitt is a former winner in here and after struggling to beat Haase, who played amazingly in the first round, the Australian had no problems in defeating Montanes by 7:6 6:0 6:2 in the second round. Hewitt is still one of the best players in the world and his game makes him one of the best grass courters in the world. His baseline game, combined with a good serve, a great ability to hit well from both wings in the court and a perfect movement and footwork on the surface make him one of the most dangerous players in this tournament. Bolelli is a great matchup for him, as barring his good serve, he doesn't have any weapons to really hurt Hewitt and just like it happened last season in here, I expect Hewitt to convincingly win in here, to prepare himself for his 4th round encounter with the world number one, Roger Federer. Take Hewitt minus the games in here.
