Ryder Cup - Special Market v Special Market

My first selection is a native. Francois Delamontagne has a regal name, and has been in truly royal form of late. He was T8th in Austria, T4th in the ST Omer, and T6th last week in the BMW where a lot of the big boys were teeing it up to gain extra valuable Ryder Cup points. This fellow has the right mix of a decent driving game and a fine touch on the short grass. He was 4th here 3 years ago, and arguably has never been in better form. While people will tell you what sort of good form Westwood, Karlsson and Jiminez are in ( which they are ) this chap has slipped under the radar, and in his own country's open championship, he would have a real shout at a very big price.
Mark Foster is one of the true old school, A member of the victorious 1995 Walker Cup team at Royal Porthcawl alongside Stephen Gallacher, Padraig Harrington and David Howell. After a highly successful amateur career, which included back-to-back English Amateur Championships in 1994 and 1995, progress proved difficult. He had his best ever year on tour last year winning over 600,000 euros mainly thanks to a 3rd in the british masters, a top 10 in Spain, and a 15th place here. He has just had his biggest paycheck of the year as well where he picked up over 100,000 euro's for finishing T3rd. He will come here in great spirits on a course he loves, and is another who can go well at a very big price.
Darren Clarke is in my top 3 list of favourite ever golfers. i liked him even before I learned of his battle with Heather and her cancer. I love hi style of golf, his swash buckling attitude, never say die spirit, and the fact that he is one of a handful of golfers who have gone toe to toe with Tiger and beaten him.
He has not played the French Open for the last 3 years because he has never had to, however, he is desparate to get into the Ryder Cup team, and a win here would pretty much seal that. He is pivotal to our success if we are going to retain the little gold trophy, and he has been in decent form of late too. After winning the Asian open back in April he has gone and posted 4 top 25's in the next 5 tournaments. That shows the spirit of the man and the player that can go close this week.
