ATP - Andreas Beck v Rafael Nadal

Way too big of a total set entirely due to a few solid results of a recent anonymous player from Germany. To give such a player a chance, or should I say to predict he would play an up-tempo game for three sets with Nadal, and based on couple of challenger finals and titles won this year, is to say the least a big mistake by the people in charge of setting the totals. I've watched Beck play live earlier this year at a challenger in Belgrade (played on carpet) where Andreas got defeated easily by the Italian Luzzi, not showing anything special whatsoever. He committed way too many UEs and had no weapon at all, not even the serve. However, a certain progress is visible in his game since then and that was quite noticeable at the Halle tournament where he gave plenty of trouble to Blake and took him to two TBs before losing that QF clash. Unfortunately, based on that match itself one can't conclude that we're talking about a player who can endanger Rafael Nadal in any way.

Rafa has reached his top form just for this year's Wimbledon and I think he will undoubtedly be capable of endangering king Roger, the multiple winner of this Grand Slam. When we all thought Novak Djokovic would easily win in the Queens finals against Nadal, totally the opposite happened and the triumph was actually quite convincing for Rafa which is definitely a great intro before his performances at the All-England club. Rafa should breeze through this clash because he is simply the type of player that doesn't pay much attention to who ius on the other side of the net and he treats all of his opponents equally serious.

If the Spaniard keeps his focus right from the start, Beck, who is the same age as Rafa, will only be a passive observer during the demonstration of force and one short-lasting lesson on the basics of tennis.
