Royal Ascot - Race 4 v Race Winner

In a 30 runner 1 miles cavalry charge, you need a good dose of luck on your side, and those who have backed Bankable at very short odds will be hoping he gets the right breaks, at the right time. There is no doubt that he is by far and away the best horse in the race, and he should very easily win this by a good few lengths, but there has been many a digit burned backing supposed good things in races like this. I'm happy to look elsewhere for a good each way ount, and I quite like this one. The stats say the winner should really carry under 9 stone ( rules out half the field....including Bankable !! ) You need decent Ascot form ( my tip won a decent £15 grand 14 runner handicao here in September ), and you need a draw which is about 6 berths from either rail ( my fellow is drawn 2 )

The reason he is 50/1 is that in the Victoria handicap run here earlier in the season he was way down the field, and if you take that form literally you should well have a saver on Well Come at around 8/1 as he was 4th in that race. However I like the draw this horse has got, Hannon knows the time of day with Ascot winners and he has a jock on board in the shape of Martin Dwyer who knows a thing or 2 about booting home important winners ( won the derby on Sir Percy a few years ago )

All in all a perfectly good opponent to the short priced favourite.
